Logistics

To reach Pine Cay, fly into Providenciales International Airport (PLS) in the Turks and Caicos Islands—this is the main gateway for international travelers. From there, it's about a 15-minute taxi ride to Leeward Marina, where you catch a scheduled boat transfer to Pine Cay, arranged by your resort.

Boat transfers are the only way onto the island, as there are no public ferries or direct flights to Pine Cay. February weather is generally ideal—warm and dry—so travel disruptions are rare. Families should book all transfers with their resort in advance to ensure a smooth, budget-friendly journey.

Weather

Pine Cay, in the Turks and Caicos Islands, enjoys a tropical climate with warm temperatures year-round, averaging 27°C (80°F). The islands experience gentle ocean breezes, plenty of sunshine, and low humidity, making it ideal for outdoor adventures, sightseeing tours, and family activities throughout all seasons.

From February 13 to February 19, expect pleasant, dry weather with lows around 22°C (72°F) and highs near 28°C (82°F). February is part of the dry season, so rain is rare and extreme weather events are unlikely. This is an excellent period for snorkeling, sampling island gastronomy, and exploring the area’s arts and culture.

Food & Drink

Pine Cay is known for fresh seafood like conch fritters, grilled grouper, and lobster—often served with rice and peas or fried plantains. The Meridian Club’s restaurant is the island’s main dining option, offering family-friendly, buffet-style meals with local and international options. Drinks include local Caribbean rums and fresh tropical juices.

Nearby Providenciales, accessible by boat, has more dining variety. For an average budget, try Da Conch Shack or Bugaloo’s for fresh, local fare and a laid-back atmosphere. Tipping around 10-15% is expected unless already included. Most places accommodate dietary needs, but it’s best to mention them in advance due to remote supply.
